Serego Alighieri is an 14th-century estate surrounded by the rolling hills of Valpolicella and just a few kilometres away from Verona and Lake Garda. The property is owned by descendants of the poet Dante Alighieri, who produce their own wine, olive oil and honey. This would make an unforgettably romantic destination wedding venue for either an indoor or an outdoor celebration.
This venue dates back to 1353 and has been passed down through 21 generations. It is home to the longest historical, cultural winemaking tradition in Valpolicella. Guests can stay in the Foresteria which has 8 traditional country manor house style-apartments with views over the park. This vineyard has the oldest wine cellars in Valpolicella and is filled with 600 litre cherry wood barrels that give the wine its incredible flavour. The courtyard is a particularly impressive space. It is paved in typical Prun Stone and has 11 ancient vines that were planted in 1875 to mark the birth of Count Pieralvise, who then went on to fund the agricultural school in Gargagnago in 1920. Other impressive outdoor event spaces include the internal garden with centuries-old trees, the olive trees garden overlooking the vineyard, and the ancient, Barchessa (porch). For an indoor event there are 2 main light-filled rooms that can be transformed for your wedding day, creating a venue that reflects your vision: “Salone degli Archi” which can host up to 100 guests for a banquet, and “Sala della Corte” for buffet services. This venue exudes romance and tranquility, perfect for a destination wedding.
