Six Wedding Venues on Park Lane and Around Hyde Park Corner

Park Lane has some of London’s best-known hotels, and the wedding spaces behind their doors are far from interchangeable. One hotel has a large Art Deco ballroom with a separate entrance; another offers private dining for a handful of guests. Just off Park Lane, a historic townhouse gives couples a completely different setting.

These six wedding venues are on Park Lane or immediately around Hyde Park Corner. They are worth comparing for the kind of celebration each can accommodate, rather than their postcode alone.

The Dorchester, Park Lane

For: A Park Lane ballroom with its own entrance | Around 380 recommended for a comfortable wedding

The private entrance here changes the arrival experience. Rather than joining the hotel’s main lobby, wedding guests enter through a marble reception area and gather in the Gold and Silver Rooms, close to the Ballroom.

During our showround, the events team advised that approximately 380 guests works comfortably for a full wedding. That is the number I would use when making an initial comparison with the other Park Lane hotels, before discussing a floor plan.

London Hilton on Park Lane

For: A very large reception | Grand Ballroom: published banquet capacity of up to 1,100, excluding confirmation of a wedding dance-floor layout

The London Hilton is one to look into if a guest list is too large for most Mayfair ballrooms. Its Grand Ballroom is extensive and divisible, and the hotel publishes separate capacities for banquet and reception layouts.

For a wedding, the most important next step is to see a proposed floor plan. A stage, dance floor, guest tables and arrival space can change the usable number substantially, so the largest published capacity should not be taken as a finished wedding layout.

InterContinental London Park Lane, Hyde Park Corner

For: A substantial wedding with a private arrival | Hotel wedding information references celebrations of up to 600

The InterContinental stands close to Hyde Park Corner and has a private event entrance from Hamilton Place. Beyond the Ballroom, a series of Park Lane suites allows smaller gatherings and parts of the wedding day to be arranged separately.

The hotel’s can host wedding celebrations of up to 600 in the Ballroom. Ask the wedding team for an up-to-date seated dinner-and-dance plan rather than using the largest general event figure.

Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane

For: A more contained hotel ballroom | Ballroom: up to 250 for banquet

The Four Seasons offers a different scale from the biggest ballrooms nearby. Its first-floor Ballroom is supported by smaller event rooms, giving couples options for an intimate ceremony, drinks reception or a different dining arrangement.

The hotel’s banquet capacity is 250, with reception numbers varying by layout. Ask what happens to the seated number when a dance floor and entertainment are added, particularly if your guest list is close to that maximum.

The Lanesborough, Hyde Park Corner

For: A Regency-style reception and dinner | The Lanesborough Restaurant: 150 for dining, 128 for dinner and dancing

At the edge of Hyde Park, The Lanesborough offers more intimate rooms as well as its grand restaurant. The restaurant’s glass dome and chandeliers set a very different tone from the purpose-built ballrooms along Park Lane.

Its published capacities are useful because they distinguish a seated dinner from a dinner with dancing. Couples who want both in the same room should work from the smaller 128-guest figure rather than the higher reception number.

No.4 Hamilton Place, Hyde Park Corner

For: A historic townhouse rather than a hotel | Bill Boeing Room: up to 200 for a reception, or 160 for dinner and dancing

No.4 Hamilton Place is near Park Lane rather than directly on it, so it belongs in this guide as a nearby alternative. The Edwardian townhouse has ornate rooms, a sweeping staircase and an outdoor terrace overlooking Hyde Park.

The Bill Boeing Room offers a different character from a traditional hotel ballroom, with space for around 160 guests at dinner with dancing. Upstairs, the Argyll Room and Terrace provide a quite different setting overlooking Hyde Park. Compare the spaces by how you plan to use them, rather than their maximum capacities.

Making the choice

For sheer scale, start with the Hilton or InterContinental and ask each team for an accurate wedding floor plan. The Dorchester offers grandeur with a notably separate arrival. Four Seasons and The Lanesborough operate at a more contained scale, while No.4 Hamilton Place offers the atmosphere of a historic townhouse.
