Planning a Wedding at Amanoi, Vietnam

Set on a coastal ridge within Núi Chúa National Park, Amanoi is one of the most distinctive wedding venues in Vietnam. The resort overlooks Vinh Hy Bay, with forested hills behind it and the coastline unfolding below. While many luxury resorts in Southeast Asia feel highly developed, Amanoi retains a quieter and more secluded atmosphere.

One of the things that stands out most about weddings here is the flexibility of the setting. Some couples choose a full resort buyout for a larger multi-day celebration, while others use one of the private residences for a smaller wedding with close family and friends.

The combination of privacy, landscape and layout gives Amanoi a very different feel from many other destination wedding venues in Asia.

Why Amanoi Works Particularly Well for Weddings

Amanoi’s layout naturally lends itself to weddings because the resort is spread across the hillside rather than concentrated around one central building.

Accommodation is positioned throughout the property, creating privacy for guests while still allowing the wedding itself to feel communal. The ceremony, dinner and post-wedding events can also move between different parts of the resort without losing a sense of flow.

The setting itself plays a major role too. Weddings here are shaped less by dramatic styling and more by the surrounding landscape – the coastline, lotus lake, forests and sea views already create a strong atmosphere without needing excessive production.

Smaller Weddings and Private Residences

One of the strongest aspects of Amanoi for weddings is the flexibility offered by the private residences.

For smaller celebrations, couples can host the entire wedding within their own residence without needing to buy out the full resort. This works particularly well for families or groups travelling together, as each residence combines private guest accommodation with larger communal areas designed for entertaining.

The residences include shared living and dining spaces, large infinity pools, outdoor seating areas and alfresco dining spaces, allowing guests to spend time together across several days rather than only during the wedding itself.

Each residence also has a very different setting and atmosphere.

Residence 18 works particularly well for larger celebrations. Positioned above the Beach Club, it has expansive outdoor areas, mature trees and wide views across the bay. The communal spaces wrap around the infinity pool, giving the residence a more social and open feel.

Residence 5 feels completely different. Positioned high on the clifftop, it overlooks the rugged coastline with uninterrupted ocean views. A long wooden deck creates a natural processional route towards the ceremony area, making it especially well suited to smaller ceremonies.

Residence 9 sits higher within the resort overlooking the lotus lake, forested valleys and coastline beyond. The separation between the pool area and dining space gives the residence a more multi-layered layout for entertaining across the day.

For very intimate weddings, Ocean Pool Villa 1 offers a smaller-scale option with dramatic sea views and complete privacy.

Larger Weddings and Resort Buyouts

For larger celebrations, Amanoi can also operate extremely well as a full resort buyout venue.

In these cases, couples typically use several parts of the resort across the wedding weekend, including the beach, Beach Club and central pavilion spaces.

The beach setting works particularly well for ceremonies followed by more relaxed receptions by the water, while the central pavilion and lotus lake create a more structured atmosphere for cocktail receptions and dinners.

The resort itself is relatively low density, meaning even larger weddings tend to retain a calm and private atmosphere.

The Best Time of Year for a Wedding at Amanoi

One of Amanoi’s advantages is its unusual microclimate.

Although weather patterns vary across Vietnam depending on the season, Amanoi’s position between the mountains and the coastline means rainfall is often lower than surrounding areas. Sea breezes also help keep temperatures more comfortable throughout much of the year.

The period from November to January can bring stronger winds and more unpredictable weather, which makes planning outdoor events slightly more complicated.

Food and Guest Experience

Food plays a major role in the overall experience at Amanoi.

The resort focuses heavily on fresh Vietnamese ingredients, seafood and produce grown within the surrounding region. Dining feels refined without becoming overly formal, which suits the atmosphere of the property itself.

The guest experience extends well beyond the wedding day. Guests can spend time at the spa, explore the national park, hike through the hills or take part in water-based activities along the coastline. Due to the resort’s secluded setting, weddings here often feel more immersive than celebrations in busier destination resorts.

Who Amanoi Suits Best

Amanoi works particularly well for couples looking for:

  • A more private and nature-led wedding setting
  • A smaller or mid-sized destination wedding
  • A multi-day celebration with close family and friends
  • A wedding focused on atmosphere rather than large-scale production
  • A luxury resort with strong privacy and guest experience

Couples planning very large weddings with extensive production may find other venues in Vietnam more operationally suited to higher guest numbers.
