Ham Yard Hotel:

Tucked between the streets of Soho and a short stroll from Mayfair, Ham Yard Hotel sits around a private courtyard. The courtyard is home to a Tony Cragg sculpture and the boutique shops of Ham Yard Village. The hotel holds Michelin 2 Keys for 2025. It also appeared in The Times 50 Best Places to Stay in the UK for 2026. Every room is individually designed by Kit Kemp. Her signature use of colour, pattern and custom craftsmanship gives the hotel a visual character unlike any other boutique wedding venue in London.

A Flexible Wedding Venue

The event spaces span eight named rooms across the hotel, each with a distinct character and purpose. Together, they make Ham Yard an unusually flexible wedding venue. Couples can move from an intimate ceremony in the Drawing Room to a wedding breakfast in the Windmill Room, then on to an evening reception in The Croc with its original 1950s bowling alley and dancefloor. The rooftop garden suits outdoor ceremonies and summer drinks receptions with panoramic views over the Soho rooftops. As a result, the hotel works especially well for couples who want personality and creativity to define the whole day rather than just the ceremony.

The Event Spaces

The Windmill Room is the principal private dining and reception space. It has scenic wallpaper, curated artworks, and holds up to 60 for a wedding breakfast and 120 for a standing reception. Together with a lounge area, it suits both seated dinners and flowing receptions.

The Sherwood Room is the newest addition and offers a long dining format with a warm, characterful atmosphere. It suits wedding breakfasts and intimate receptions where a single dramatic table arrangement is the visual centrepiece.

The Archer Room is decorated in bold midnight blue with urban-contemporary artwork. It holds up to 22 for a private dinner and 50 for a reception. It suits rehearsal dinners, intimate ceremonies or pre-wedding private dining where a more intimate and characterful setting is preferred.

The Drawing Room holds up to 50 guests and provides a relaxed, residential atmosphere for smaller ceremonies or pre-wedding gatherings.

The Dive Bar suits cocktail receptions and welcome drinks, with a distinctive atmosphere that reflects the hotel’s wider Soho character.

The Roof Terrace holds up to 100 guests and has panoramic views over the Soho rooftops. It suits outdoor ceremonies, summer drinks receptions and is a great photography spot. In addition, it also features a vegetable garden and beehives, which give it a character no other rooftop venue in central London replicates.

The Ham Yard Theatre seats 190 guests and suits wedding couples who want to incorporate a screening, a live performance or a more theatrical element into the celebration.

The Croc is one of the most distinctive after-dinner space available at any London hotel wedding venue. It houses an original 1950s Brunswick bowling alley, imported from Texas, with a lounge, bar and dancefloor alongside two large-scale Howard Hodgkin artworks. It takes exclusive hire for 100 to 250 guests. For couples who want the evening to continue well beyond the wedding breakfast, it is genuinely unlike anything else in the capital.

Accommodation and Spa

The hotel has 91 individually designed bedrooms and suites across the building, plus 24 luxury residences for longer stays or larger wedding parties. No two rooms are alike, which reflects Kit Kemp’s approach to design throughout. The Soholistic Spa offers pre-wedding treatments and bridal party preparations. In addition, a gym and the hotel’s Library with its Honesty Bar are available to guests throughout their stay.

Ham Yard Restaurant and Bar

Ham Yard Restaurant offers seasonal British menus across an airy main restaurant, an outdoor courtyard terrace and a relaxed orangery. Additionally, the bar is available for pre-wedding dinners, rehearsal gatherings and post-wedding brunches.

Is Ham Yard Hotel Right for Your Wedding?

Ham Yard Hotel suits couples planning a creative, personality-led London wedding where the design, atmosphere and range of spaces matter as much as the ceremony itself. The Michelin 2 Keys recognition, the Kit Kemp interiors, the rooftop garden, the 1950s bowling alley and the eight distinct event spaces collectively make it one of the most versatile and distinctive boutique wedding venues in central London. Furthermore, the Soho location means guests have one of London’s most vibrant neighbourhoods on the doorstep throughout the whole stay.

However, it is not the venue for couples wanting a traditional grand ballroom or a very large wedding above the capacity of the event rooms. It also has no gardens in the country house sense. Specific space combinations and capacities for the full day should be confirmed directly with the events team, as room configurations vary depending on the format of the celebration.
