One Marylebone:

Sir John Soane completed the building in 1817. More than two centuries later, it remains one of the most architecturally striking wedding venues in London. As a neoclassical former church opposite Regent’s Park, it has been hosting exceptional events since 2008.

Its 27-foot ceilings, striking mosaics and original stained glass windows bring genuine character to every event. The space needs very little additional dressing to make an impression. What makes One Marylebone work so well as a wedding reception venue, however, is how the spaces connect. Couples hold their ceremony in the Hall or Galleries, move to The Garden for drinks, return inside for dinner, then take the evening to The Vaults. All of this happens without leaving the building. For a large wedding venue in London, that natural flow across a full day is rare.

One Marylebone also holds a civil ceremony licence. This means the legal wedding and the celebration take place entirely on site. For couples searching for a civil ceremony venue in London with both the capacity and the character to match, it is one of the stronger options in the capital. In addition, the team has experience hosting a wide range of cultural ceremonies, including Mandap, Mehndi, Nikah and Chuppah celebrations. The scale of the spaces supports all of these properly.

The Spaces

The Soane Hall is the main space. It is also the one most couples choose for their ceremony or wedding breakfast. It holds up to 400 guests for a ceremony and 320 for a seated dinner. Because of its 27-foot ceilings, mosaics and stained glass windows, it is one of the more remarkable rooms available for a large wedding in central London.

The Galleries offer a completely different atmosphere. Palladian windows and natural daylight make them well suited to smaller ceremonies or receptions. As a result, they work particularly well for couples who want a lighter, more intimate setting within the same building. Each wing holds up to 175 guests for a ceremony or 100 for dinner. Together, the full Galleries space has the capacity for up to 300 guests for a standing reception.

The Garden is the outdoor courtyard. It is partially covered and well suited to a drinks reception or an outdoor wedding ceremony in London. Outdoor ceremony space in the city centre is genuinely rare. For this reason, The Garden is one of the more distinctive features of the venue. It holds up to 200 guests for a ceremony, 250 for a standing reception or 100 for a covered dinner.

The Vaults sit below ground. They operate as a separate late-night space, split across a mezzanine level for up to 100 guests and a basement floor for up to 200. The Vaults have a distinct character from the spaces above, meaning they give the celebration a second wind rather than ending the evening in the same room as dinner.

Catering and Dining

One Marylebone works with One Dining, its in-house catering team. One Dining won Best Venue for Gala Dinners, Awards or Weddings at the London Venue Catering Awards 2025. Couples choose from classic plated menus, contemporary dining formats or a fully packaged wedding option. The package includes catering, drinks, event management and use of the Belfry Bridal Suite. For those who prefer to bring their own caterer, exclusive hire is available through a list of approved suppliers.

Is One Marylebone Right for Your Wedding?

One Marylebone works best for couples planning a wedding in London where architecture, scale and flexibility matter. The venue holds a civil ceremony licence, meaning it is a practical as well as a beautiful choice. The Soane Hall comes into its own at larger guest counts, 200 and above. For this reason, it suits couples planning a substantial celebration rather than an intimate gathering.

However, it is not the right choice for couples wanting a more intimate or domestic setting. It also does not suit those looking for a countryside backdrop, or a hotel that accommodates the wedding party overnight. There is no on-site accommodation, so couples arrange guest rooms through the many hotels in Marylebone and the wider West End.

For couples considering other styles of London wedding venue, our collection includes private members’ clubs, five-star hotels and historic landmarks across the capital.
