Inverlochy Castle:

Set near Fort William in the Scottish Highlands, this 19th-century castle is surrounded by woodland and open landscape close to Loch Linnhe.

The building retains its original character throughout. Inside, traditional interiors, period details and classic furnishings create a refined and welcoming atmosphere.

In addition, the service feels highly personal. Staff greet guests on arrival and maintain a consistent level of attention throughout the stay. As a result, the experience feels closer to a private house than a large hotel.

Accommodation

Rooms are spread across the main castle, the walled garden and nearby lodges.

In total, the estate accommodates around 50 guests on-site.

This allows most guests to stay together, which works particularly well for multi-day weddings.

Weddings at Inverlochy Castle

This venue works well for couples planning a wedding in Scotland with a historic setting and a more private atmosphere.

  • Located in the Scottish Highlands near Fort William
  • 19th-century castle with traditional interiors
  • Grounds with woodland and lochside access
  • Indoor ceremony and reception spaces
  • Suitable for intimate to mid-sized weddings
  • Exclusive use required for larger groups

Most of the day takes place inside the castle, which creates a more cohesive and intimate flow.

Ceremony & Reception Spaces

The main spaces sit within the castle and reflect its historic character.

The Drawing Room works well for smaller ceremonies and more intimate groups. Meanwhile, the Great Hall accommodates larger celebrations of up to 80 guests.

For weddings of up to around 65 guests, the main entrance hall often hosts both the ceremony and reception. This creates a natural flow between each part of the day.

In addition, private dining rooms provide options for smaller celebrations of up to 20 guests.

Outdoor ceremonies are possible; however, the venue generally recommends indoor celebrations due to the local climate. The grounds still work well for drinks receptions and photographs.

Marquees are not permitted on the estate.

Food & Guest Experience

The hotel provides all catering on-site, with menus tailored to each wedding.

Service remains formal but friendly, and the team manages the day closely from start to finish. As a result, everything runs smoothly without needing extensive external planning.

In addition, guests can take part in activities such as clay shooting, archery and guided walks, which suits a longer wedding stay.

Location

The property is located near Fort William in the Scottish Highlands.

Guests typically travel from Glasgow or Inverness, both of which offer good access by road.

Practical Information

Weddings with 20 guests or more require exclusive use of the property.

The venue accommodates up to 80 guests for ceremonies and dining.

On-site accommodation is available for around 50 guests across the estate.

A minimum stay may apply depending on the season.

Pricing is provided on enquiry.
