The Estate is just outside Wellington in the heart of the Cape Winelands and a mere 50 minutes drive from Cape Town and the airport. Nestled in the valley below the Bainskloof Pass, the 380 hectares of mountains, vineyards, riverbeds, forests and fynbos are the perfect backdrop for a dream wedding and offer an abundance of possibilities for your wedding photography. All functions are catered for by our resident chef, accompanied by Doolhof’s award-winning wines. Grand Dédale offers elegant Country House living as well as the original Manor House from the 1700s, which has been stylishly restored and houses six luxury rooms. Our freestanding thatched stone cottage or “romantic living cottage” forms the final bedroom and with its romantic interior, the feeling of space and plenty of natural light is the ideal Honeymoon Suite. Choose to have your ceremony in the beautifully landscaped Grand Dédale gardens, by the mystic labyrinth or in the cottage which offers a typical chapel feel and can seat up to 90 guests. For your wedding reception with up to 120 guests we suggest our pool terrace overlooking the mountains or, for smaller weddings with up to 100 guests make use the Grand Dédale veranda.
